About Us

Katie Grubiak, RDN, practices with a focus on blending Western & Eastern philosophies regarding nutritional healing. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and first pursued a career in public health with a maternal child focus in San Diego & Los Angeles. Through her experience, she has surrounded herself with different cultures and a mission to honor all those seeking healthcare nutritional support.

It was in the same underprivileged area of Los Angeles, where she was serving nutritionally, she began to offer her other passion to the community.  She became a dance teacher at a foundation called Everybody Dance!,  which was awarded by First Lady Michelle Obama the National Arts & Humanities Youth Program Award. Her involvement in eating disorder treatment started at the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center. There she worked closely with medical staff & the UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services Center in a treatment team approach to support students struggling with eating disorders. She has continued to work among eating disorder multi-disciplinary teams. Her belief is  that holistic care means having all areas of health supported with practitioners communicating effectively, often with her leading the team.

Katie’s other eating disorder employment affiliations include working alongside Dr. Lauren Muhlheim at Eating Disorder Therapy LA. Together, they have a team approach to support families seeking Family-Based Treatment or FBT.  In addition, Katie is the Dietitian at Optimum Performance Institute in Woodland Hills, California. The institute specializes in residential treatment for young adults with Borderline Personality Disorder and co-occurring issues, such as eating disorders. Katie teaches the Restorative Movement Group there alongside a Nutritional Balance Group. Themes in both discuss building a nutritive relationship with food & body through sensation, metaphor, intuition, and self-compassion.
